There's Room at the Cross for Me

There's room at his feet for me,
Yes, there's room at God's tree.
He died for me there
My sins He came to bear,

He welcomes me, arms open wide,
I want to be there by His side,
Learning and leaning only on Him,
Without Him my life is full of sin.

Praying moment by moment, day
by day
Teach me oh Lord, to go your way,
Go hand in hand, your will to be
Save room at the cross, yes, Lord
for me.

Lend the Holy Spirit, each day
I go,
In this spirit help me to grow,
God forbid me to live in sin,
Keep the Holy Spirit, deep within.

Give me peace and hold my place
Under the tree, in God's grace.
Live in my heart, so I will know
There's room at the cross below.

This poem is placed here in loving
memory of my dear sister, Marie, who
passed away unexpectedly in 1995.
She is greatly missed and I have the
blessed hope of being reunited with
her one day in our heavenly home.
