A True Love Story

When my children were young they would
ask, "Mommy, how much do you love me?"
I would smile, stretch out my arms as wide
as they would go, and say, "Mommy loves you
this much and beyond!" I would then return
the question and with a sweet innocent smile
they would stretch out their little arms as
wide as they could go and say, "Oh, Mommy I
love you this much and even more." That was
such a nice feeling knowing they loved me as
much as their little arms would allow!

With my thoughts turned towards Heaven, I
have asked this question many times before,
"Jesus, how much do you love me?" It is
always the same answer.....

cross

Jhn.3:16

He left heaven, a glorious place full of
beauty, love, and peace, to come to this
dying planet, Earth. He came not as a
royal king but as a helpless babe, to be
not the son of royalty but the son of a
poor carpenter. He had not even a place
to lay his head. He lived among men who
rejected and despised Him. Men pierced
His heart with their unbelief. He lived
a sinless life and yet took all the sins
of the world upon Himself, only to at last
be sold for thirty pieces of silver. He
was beaten, mocked, and spat upon as a
crown of thorns was pushed into his head
causing His precious blood to flow. He
bore the cross to Calvary alone and
stretched out His loving arms upon that
cruel cross allowing men to drive, not
nails, but big spikes into the palms of
His hands and into His feet. He asked
the Father to forgive them even as those
spikes were being driven deep into His
flesh. He thought not of Himself as He
hung there to die but of those He was
leaving behind. He died upon that cross
not from the wounds inflicted upon him
but of a broken heart. He did this all
for me that I might have the opportunity
to live eternally with Him. It was my
sins He bore upon His shoulders, Yes,
my sins hung Him there, I was the one
that broke His heart.
Now I hear Him gently say to me,
"My beloved child, this is how much
I love you,
how much do you love me?"
