Victory Over Death

Death is our enemy, but he is a
defeated foe
If the life-giving Saviour we
personally know.
Many are fearful at the thought of
passing away;
Fearing what lies beyond the grave
so cold and gray.

There's no need to fear if our life
is hidden with Christ in God;
If in true faith and humility this
old earth we trod
There is no just cause to fear
death's cold sting,
For when Christ comes...our crown
of life He will bring.

The scriptures liken death to a
deep sleep...
For those resting in Jesus, we don't
need to weep.
Christ gained victory over death when
He arose from the tomb
And He's coming back for His faithful
departed ones soon.

They will be called from dusty beds to
meet Him in the air...
The living faithful souls as well shall
be gathered there.
All will be changed in a moment...in the
twinkling of an eye
Before rising up to meet Jesus in the sky.

Corruptible to incorruptible and mortal
to immortal;
In preparation for entrance to the
heavenly portal.
We'll shout with triumphal joy in this
grandest moment of history...
"O death, where is thy sting? O grave
where is thy victory?"

Jesus said, "Let not your hearts be troubled...... believe in me.... I have gone to prepare a place for you...I will come again that where I am there ye may be also."
